Details

A total of 512 Brush Type 4 locomotives were built by Brush Traction at Falcon Works in Loughborough and by British Rail at Crewe Works. This locomotive entered service as D1787 in 1964 at Tinsley, seeing extensive use on merry-go-round trains. Renumbered 47306 in 1974, it later became part of the EWS fleet and enjoyed a long career before withdrawal in February 1999. After a period in storage, it was preserved at the Bodmin Railway in 2007 and has been restored to full working condition, remaining a popular example of British rail history for enthusiasts and model collectors.
