Postage Stamp 1/110 JU-87 Stuka
Postage Stamp - 1/110 Ju-87 Stuka
The Junkers Ju-87 Stuka was a key factor in Germany’s blitzkrieg victories early in World War II, and would become the feared emblem of German air power. Designed as a dive bomber and ground-attack aircraft, the Stuka had an unmistakable presence, with its distinctive gull wings, fixed, spatted undercarriage, and howling siren, nicknamed the "Jericho Trumpet". The Stuka’s innovative dive brakes enabled its two-man crew to drop bombs with remarkable accuracy, and it proved devastating against ground and naval targets, though it was no match for faster fighter planes. This particular Ju-87 was used mainly as a low-altitude ground attack aircraft towards the end of the war and was surrendered at Furth in May 1945. It comes in 1:110 scale with plastic stand and is approximately 3 7/8 inches long (9.8cm) with a 5 1/2 inch (14cm) wingspan.
